In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK preparing for a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to travel that evening, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists slowed down speech don't think I can catch the flight we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing helper".

These messages were released on this week together with over 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, events, and locations referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses chartering a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and gave the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, did not reply on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as the president's key aides in the lead-up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but resigned from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his show earlier this year, he stated: "We're going to publish the film, the five-part series, next year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile at times seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A short time prior to the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Discussed in Exchanges

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in that year.

On the day of his address at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this day with Nigel, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to Theresa May, the struggling UK prime minister at the time, he added: "They are trying to move on. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can in the UK. Ideal- so people get the dedication of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the guys here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was eventually removed in May 2019 after withstanding two votes of no confidence in December 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK informed the BBC: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The Congress will decide next week on whether the Department of Justice should release all its records related to its probe into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was renewed this week after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has consistently rejected any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the 2000s, a couple of years before Epstein was first arrested.
